This is a one-year position (with the potential to extend if desired) to allow for determination of needs and establishment of clinical support structure for a long-standing child and adolescent psychology program to come. For the Endocrine division, psychologist support is needed to assist with children adjusting to reproductive and gender-identity issues as well as chronic stress from diabetes and other medical conditions.For the Gastroenterology division, psychologist support is sought for the assessment, counseling and therapy for functional abdominal pain and chronic conditions like inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome.Cognitive behavioral therapy for nightmares and behavioral insomnia will be needed. This may require in-house assessments and regular counseling sessions for desensitization. For the sleep medicine center, psychologist support is needed to provide play therapy, behavioral intervention and psychological education to children and parents with behavioral insomnia as well as neuro-diverse children with poor sleep habits and problems tolerating sleep therapies such as continuous positive airway pressure.The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to work with children in 3 Divisions:
